Our History
The Bibles for Bibleless Trust was founded by Bro. Dr. Mathews Vergis on 2010, commemorating his 25 years in the Lord's service. An anointed prophet and Bible translator, his mission throughout his ministry, has been to make the Word of God available to all people, from all walks of life, all over the world.
Bro. Dr. Mathews Vergis is the translator of the Visudha Satya Vedapusthakam – the first path-breaking translation of the Bible in the 100 year-old, South Indian language, Malayalam, spoken by over 35 million people. He has pioneered the translation of the New Testament into Paniya – the language spoken by the Paniya tribe with a population of nearly 115,000. Moved by the low literacy rate among the Paniya people, Brother set up the Paniya Audio Bible Project, so that they would be able to hear the Word of God in their heart language. The Paniya people are able to now listen to the audio New Testament through the tapes and little tape players that have been provided through this ministry. Brother has also pioneered the translation of the New Testament into the Jennu Kurumba language, spoken by the Jennu Kurumba tribe numbering about 56,000. Both these translations are firsts in the history of these languages. Bro. Dr. Mathews Vergis has presented 'The Christian Walk Bible', the first study Bible in the world in English, having an extended exposition on fasting prayer. He is the first Asian to present a study Bible in English. Brother has also started ministries to promote the reading and the distribution of the Word of God. He began the Blue Bible Ministry to distribute Bibles in hospitals all over Kerala in India. The Birthday Bible Donors Club was setup by Brother with the aim of encouraging Christians worldwide, to gift a Bible to someone on their birthdays. The Brother's Bible Lovers League was established to encourage and promote the reading of the Word of God among the young and old alike. Brother most recently founded the Bibles for Bibleless Trust to unify all his Bible ministries, and make his missions to spread God's Word truly global, so that all may participate in the Great Commission and be blessed. |
